Meet the Team

At PsychOpen GOLD, our mission is carried out by a team working across various fields of academic publishing. Each team member plays an important role in ensuring our platform’s smooth operation and continuous improvement. We adhere to best practices in open science publishing, supporting our community of editors, authors, and readers.

PsychOpen Team

Platform Manager

Dr. Gerrit Fröhlich oversees the strategic development of PsychOpen GOLD. He supports different stakeholders, optimizes workflows, and implements features that align with open science standards. Gerrit’s role extends to providing comprehensive guidance on the peer review process and publishing practices. He serves as the key contact for contractual matters and leads the conceptual development of Open Science features. Additionally, Gerrit is the go-to-person for copyright and data protection issues. He assists journals with submissions to various indices, and coordinates with other ZPID products (such as PsychArchives) to ensure seamless integration and synergy.

Production Editors

Marina Kuhn, M.A., Dr. Glenn Leihner-Guarin, and Dr. Judith Tinnes oversee the journey of scholarly articles from acceptance to publication. They handle copy-editing, layout, and metadata curation, ensuring the highest quality of published content. They also play a key role in maintaining open science standards and coordinating with international authors and editors. The Production Editors are responsible for publication planning and scheduling of issues and special sections, ensuring a smooth and timely publication process.

Production Associate

Dr. Niyati Thakur manages pre-production processes, conducts quality control of incoming articles and open science materials, and handles post-production tasks. She is also in charge of disseminating publications to various indexing services to enhance the visibility of our journals.

Technical Manager

Dr. Tina Keil is responsible for the technical aspects of PsychOpen GOLD. She develops and maintains our platform, implements production workflows, and provides technical support to our users. Tina is also in charge of the layout for both individual contributions and the public presentation of PsychOpen GOLD. She standardizes features and appearances across our journals, ensuring a consistent and professional look. Tina advises our Editors-in-Chief on technical aspects of Open Science features and coordinates technically with other ZPID products. Her role extends to ensuring security measures are in place and continuously developing our Journal Management System.

Student Assistants

Rebecca Daniel, B.A., supports PsychOpen GOLD’s daily operations. She uploads digital objects (e.g., supplements) to PsychArchives, assists in the journal management by monitoring page contingents, and manuscript adherence to APA Style.

Shaptarshi Roy, B.A., contributes significantly to PsychOpen GOLD’s technical operations. She supports the standardization and automation of various publishing workflows and metadata processing.
