Journal of Numerical Cognition

The Journal of Numerical Cognition is an open access journal that advances research in numerical cognition. Bridging theory and practice, it aims to foster global interdisciplinary dialogue. Its content spans from original studies to theoretical positions, and is accessible to academics and practitioners alike.

JNC is the official journal of the Mathematical Cognition and Learning Society (MCLS) and is a free, open access, peer-reviewed publication. The journal understands numerical cognition as encompassing all branches of mathematics (including spatial reasoning), and welcomes research for its quality, regardless of whether its origins are in (Cognitive) Psychology, Education, Anthropology, or other disciplines.

JNC aims to facilitate communication not only amongst psychologists but also between psychologists and cognate disciplines. Its objective is to increase the visibility of numerical cognition research in psychology and beyond, providing a scholarly forum for focused discussions. It features original studies, critical commentaries, theoretical position statements, and book reviews, bridging theory and practice in this domain.

As an open access journal, JNC ensures that contributions not only reach academics but also educators and professionals who work with numerical information. JNC welcomes submissions from researchers and practitioners worldwide, supporting both emerging and established scholars in the field.
